The design and construction of timber frames for 11 units of social housing.

Lockwoods Construction has a long history of utilising timber frame for the delivery of social housing schemes. It values the speed and predictability of bringing the building from slab to watertight to allow the internal works to commence without risking delay from inclement weather. Couple with this the issues of obtaining skilled bricklayers and at times bricks and blocks, timber frame takes these issues off the programme’s critical path. Sticx was able to convert a masonry design into timber frame and help the design team meet the stringent insulation requirements required in modern house building. Eskdale Avenue was one of three housing schemes based in St Helens.
